Francisco, who was known to everyone has Francis was a native of Goa. He came to New York and worked in order to build a better life for his wife and son in Goa. In 2002, Francis was diagnosed with AML. He received a transplant from his sister and was on his way to a healthy recovery. During his treatment, Francis had the help of two wonderful individuals who made those difficult days tolerable.
An apartment was provided to Francis, free of charge and he was able to celebrate his 100 days after transplant. Unfortunately, due to complications Francis’ condition deteriorated. When all hope was gone, the two individuals made it possible for Francis and a relative to travel back to India to be with his family. Francis was able to see his wife and son before he passed away.
Please continue to remember Francis and keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
