“Always keep hope, there is someone who is going to help you. It has given me a new outlook in life.”

BRING A SMILE BACK
TO LIFE.

PATIENTS IN NEED

Ann was pursuing a degree in Construction Management at Louisiana State University and working full-time.  She was planning to graduate in December 2007.  However, she was diagnosed with a rare form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on January 9th, less than a week before starting her senior year.

Ann and her husband were planning on starting a family when they were told of her cancer.  They hope to be able to have children after she is cured. Her ethnicity is a mixture of Vietnamese, Chinese and Irish. Because of the rarity of her Leukemia, the best chance she has for a cure is a bone marrow transplant from a matched unrelated donor.

Harrison is an adorable two-year old who loves his baby brother Lucas very much and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He likes playing with his toy dinosaurs and stuffed animals, watching cartoons and visiting Disneyland and SeaWorld. He is bi-racial, meaning it is particularly difficult to find a bone marrow donor for him. There is a severe shortage of Filipino and Asian donors in the National Marrow Donor Program database. Harrison’s family is working to raise awareness of his situation and find a suitable donor for him.

Naren was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma seven years ago, at age 29. Since then, he has undergone five different treatment regimens, most recently a combination of high-dose radiation, high-dose chemotherapy, and a transplant of his own blood stem cells. Sadly, his disease has relapsed each time. So we must act quickly to find a donor for a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. He has not found a match yet. By registering with the national registry as a volunteer marrow blood stem cell donor, you can give him the precious gift of time, and the chance to live out his dreams.

Ankit is a 21 year old college student studying Computer Engineering at the University of Buffalo. In the midst of his exams he took ill came back home to Queens, NY. He was diagnosed with leukemia and doctors say his disease requires a marrow transplant. The best chance of finding a match for Ankit is from the South Asian Community.

Glory is a 19 year old college student who is battling AML (Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia). Her studies have been interrupted till you come forward to be tested as a potential volunteer bone marrow donor. A matched volunteer donor can save her life. She is receiving rigorous chemotherapy treatment until a bone marrow donor is found.

Katherine is a lovely seven year old from Sacramento. She has an autoimmune disorder. She likes to write, draw pictures, and play with her older brother.

Leena is a 28 year old mother of one who is in urgent need of a marrow/blood cell transplant. She was diagnosed in September 2005 and has been on a strict medical regimen, but her greatest chance of survival is from a matched marrow/blood cell transplant.
